Our fish guarantee consists of two stages: - the first portion is 100% guarantee for the first 48 Hours - the second part is half guarantee for the next 48 hours. You will have a guarantee on your fish for a total of 4 days. This is to cover the stress of moving and problems associated with the transportation of fish. Our guarantee does not cover fish aggression or loss due to harassment. Fish, unfortunately, have different attitudes so you can never be 100% sure on how they will get along. We do not cover for fish loss due to jumping out of the tank or getting mutilated by equipment, yes it sadly happens also. All fish carry parasites and diseases, we strongly recommend that you put your fish into quarantine before introducing them into your display tank. This can reduce the amount of loss quite dramatically. The ability to treat a fish individually is easier to accomplish then treating a whole ecosystem. Most parasite and diseases will show up in a system within 30 days. Have any question? Give us a call (407) 375-8600 We are here for you! Happy Holidays! Ernie
Take extra measures to keep your reptiles warm this winter, under tank heaters, and stronger basking bulbs are a must. We suggest not using heat rocks or in-tank heaters, as they have a tendency of shorting out and over heating, or even worst, burning your scaly friend. Remember to use all your heating elements on the opposite side of the tank, as the water source, this will help to avoid algae growth, and keep the water fresh for longer. Give us a call, 407-375-8600, if you have any question or concerns. Ernie
As winter approaches, make sure to double check all your heaters. Fiom time to time, the motherboards will blow out without you noticing it over the summer. check them now before it gets cold. Heaters are one of the things, I believe you get what you pay for. It's easily forgotten about until it isn't working, and as we all know too well, temperature change is one of the leading causes of fish and coral death. And for those of you that don't run your heater through the summer, keep in mind that once the heater dries out, it starts to corrode. So, even if you don't have it running, it's best to leave it in the water. To test your heater, wiggle the head of it, if it moves, don't use it. If when you plug it in you hear a pop, of smell a burning smell coming from it, don't use it.. its also a good idea to keep a close eye on your tank with-in the first 24 hours of plugging in a heater for the first time. If the heater starts to short, it could blow the circuit breaker. Call us, 407-375-8600, and ask us to check your entire system, we'll have it prepare for the cold weather Ernie
With the cooler weather, you will start to notice your fish acting differently. It never fails this time of year, we get an explosion of calls for "sick" fish. Puffers and wrasses will tend to lay around and reduce interest in food, even acting lethargic. Sometimes even wedging between some rocks without much movement at all. Triggers sometimes show these same characteristics. Angels will become more shy and timid. Most fish will show changes with the weather. No matter the temperature of the water itself. Ernie
